Menagerie, Monkey, Weiner Dogs, and Fire Trucks

Hailey, loves her menagerie.  One of her favorite things to do is carry them around the house.  This particular day, I was cooking lunch and was tired of stepping on her animals.  So I took Lola and put her against the wall.  Pretty soon, Hailey had lined all of her animals up and then was asking for a snack.  When I told her to sit down, she went over and sat with her menagerie.  Then she proceeded to sit there and eat her snack and feed her animals.

What a silly face!
Hailey recently got a package from Grandpa Wally! Inside was her Halloween costume.  I put it on her to see if it would fit and we are having a hard time getting it off of her! She also loves her red boots.  She is constantly bringing them to me to put them on!  So this year I think she will be a Monkey cowgirl!

Practicing knocking on the door and asking for treats!

What a cute Monkey!

We also went to Fall Fest in "Downtown" Garden City.  When we arrived they were calling for the baby boomer participants.  We hurried over thinking that we were going to see a bunch of people hobbling around with walkers and canes.  Instead we were presently surprised to see that they were holding wiener dog races!  So we went over and watched as they raced.  Hailey loved watching the "doggie woo woo." One owner would stand at the start and release the dog and another would stand at the finish and call the dogs to come.  Some of the dogs were trying to make a great escape while others were more interested in looking at the spectators.   Then we headed down Main street to look at what vendors where there.  We were very excited to see that there were street tacos! Just like in Mexico!! We had to scrounge around the car to collect enough coins for tacos.  Yum!

Chillin at Fall Fest
Yesterday, we were on our way to the zoo when we passed the Fire Station.  They were having an open house.  So we decided to go see what was going on.  We got to see all the fire trucks, the equipment, and the station.  While we were taking our tour, the fire fighters got a call.  It was pretty cool to watch them get ready and jump in the truck to go.  Hailey did not like the fire dog mascot (he was giant and kind of scary) but she did think it was really cool to play with the fire hose.  Then her finger got pinched when they turned the hose on and she didn't think it was quite as much fun.  Over all it was a fun outing!

Firefighter Hailey and Firefighter Dad!

After she got her finger pinched.  The Firefighter felt really bad and was trying really hard to get her to cheer up!
