The Johnson Clan: Dan's Visit

Dan came to visit us in Denver while Ouma and Oupa went with the youth in their stake to Martin's Cove. He spent a whole week with us and we had so much fun! Here are some of the fun things that we did! We picked Dan up on Monday at the airport. We were both so excited to see each other. Then when we got home, Dan and Trey went swimming while Hailey had a nap. Then on Tuesday, we went to the zoo. We saw the elephants, lions, and the ostrich. (That was the only animal that Dan wanted to see) Then in the afternoon we went swimming again. Wednesday, we took a "short" walk to play group. All the moms at play group voted that Dan could come any time. We all loved sitting in the shade while Dan chased all the kids around the park. Hailey got very jealous when Dan would push the other kids on the swings. She would sit in her swing and squeal and shout Dan Dan! Then again that afternoon we went swimming.

On Thursday we took it easy and lounged in the morning. I worked on laundry while Dan watched Hailey. Then when Trey got home from work we went to a splash park. It was tons of fun! We took a picnic and played in the water. Dan got really good at leap frogging the fountains. Hailey wasn't sure about the fountains at first but it didn't take long for her to start running around and splashing everyone. When we got home we stopped by the pool for some swimming and hot tubing.

Friday, we met up with Cam, Brooke, and Shae at the lake. Trey and Dan swam to all the buoys while I held Hailey because she didn't want to play in the water or sand. After we had a picnic Hailey decided that it was now okay to get in the water. She walked down the beach and into the water all by herself. Dan decided he was going to dig a "hot tub." It took what seemed like forever for Trey and Dan to dig the hot tub. Then we came home and fed the missionaries. We had a nice visit and dinner with the missionaries followed by Dan showing off some jump rope skills.

Saturday we went to the Nature and Science museum so that Dan could pass off a Faith in God requirement. We enjoyed the rock collection, running through "space mountain," exploring space, the pin wall, seeing how fast we can walk, watching Dan become an old man, the dinosaurs, and being chased by a giant wild pig! When we got home we went to the pool again!

On Sunday, we got up and went to church. Then after a nap, we took a drive down to the temple and took some pictures. Hailey and Dan loved playing in the fountains together and it was really hard to get them out. Monday morning, we took Dan to the airport. There were lots of tears from all of us. Dan was sad to go and Hailey and I were sad to see him leave. After Dan got on the airplane, we had to wait for it to take off. Hailey screamed and threw a fit from the time Dan got on the plane to the time we got in the car. Then she promptly fell asleep. We loved having Dan come visit and can't wait to see him again!
