The Fourth of July

What a fun two days! Hailey has been trying to play with the big dogs and is absolutely exhausted! Yesterday, we went downtown to Civic Center Park for fireworks. We rode the train down and got there early enough to have plenty of room. We took our blanket and had a nice little picnic. It was a little weird to have such a small group. I felt lonely when I had to go to the restroom by myself instead of with 15 other people in the car! Hailey was very entertaining. She loved all the people around. It was a combination of a symphony concert and fireworks. We started out with plenty of space but about ten minutes before the concert started our space was invaded! We were there with ten thousand of our closest friends and there dogs, quite literally. The concert was so fun! They also shone lights on the county building to go with the music. Hailey loved dancing and the lights. She got a little nervous when the fireworks started but after getting her blanket she decided it would be okay. We ended up getting home about 11:30 and the "Go Dogs" collapsed.
Today we went to the park with some friends and had a BBQ. We ate food, played games, and visited. Hailey loved trying to get everyone to give her chips instead of the healthy food she was supposed to be eating. She also loved when they decided to play kickball. She was very confused about why she couldn't just hold the ball. She finally decided that it would be okay for dad to carry her while he played! It was so much fun and we are so glad to have good friends that we can hang out with when family is so far away.
